I guess this may be a blown fuse due the short-ed transistor, but cannot for the life of me find which fuse it is from the owners manual? remove this then lift up the membrane and clean the pads below. Those are the 3 main things, none of them that major imho. Loading... weblink

The unit you removed was a polyswitch (resettable fuse), not a transistor; it's designed to "blow" and then is reset again each time the mirror folds / unfolds.
