That's a tough one. As you mention, the only way to know for sure is for a shop to pull out the schematic and do further investigation. I wish you luck! I'm hoping this gives you a start!

Yes to having tried contact cement (worked for a while), NO I did the same with another fob, as you did, and it worked also.
