I took that apart and it did look like the wires weren't solidly connected so I re-did that. Most of the time the manufacturers use one of the mounting bolts on the light to ground to the trailer.

Just some advice for trouble shooting. Most of my wires are covered with the accordion plastic tubing OR they are hiding somewhere in the walls of the trailer. The time now is 11:13 PM. So, what is your problem, no signal/brake light on one side? Pull from the top of the panel and then set the panel aside. My problem was, right brake not working, right flasher not working, left flasher was working but with the left flasher at the same time.
What type of truck?
